Talking Candy Bars

I have always said when talking candy we need to talk about candy bars.  With a little liberty in mind a candy bar is a block of candy shaped in the form of a bar.  Now I actually consider some bags of candy such as the M&M candy bags a candy bar product as well.  Another, on the fringe of the purest description of a candy bar is a York Mint.  It is not quite a bar but I believe it is close enough.

Actually doing a little research in the Wikipedia it identifies the brick designed mobile phone as a candy bar.   A good example would be the LG Chocolate phone.  However, they do have a more traditional definition of the candy bar with many good examples.  Clearly there is a wide variety of candy bars including solid chocolate, coated chocolate, those that include nuts and fruit such as peanuts, cocoanut, cookie, wafers, toffee and fudge as a short set of examples.

The most popular candy bars in my experience categorized as chocolate and non chocolate are the following.  Excellent, chocolate candy bars which are very popular include M&Ms, Hershey bars, and Nestle Crunch bars, Reeses cups, Snickers candy bars, Twix candy bars and York Mints patties. 

Top ranking nonchocolate candy bars are the Twizzlers, Skittles and Starburst fruit chews.

While candy bars are manufactured throughout the world the United States is a major manufacturer.   The Hershey Company is one of those major manufactures.   They are located locally to our business in Hershey Pennsylvania.   Another major candy bar manufacturer is Master Foods.  They also have head quarters local to our warehouse in Morristown NJ.

In this section of The Candy News I will regularly add articles of interest regarding candy bars.  We will also include reviews providing a detailed description of candy bars and the other candy products we carry.    A new candy bar which is being introduced to the market is the 3 Musketeers Mint Chocolate Bar.  The 3 Musketeers candy bar is a combination of the original ingredients combined with a delicate minty, light and fluffy nougat center.  It is wrapped is rich dark chocolate.  The product differentiation is in the mint nougat.  Another new product, although technically not a candy bar, is the Ferrero Dark Chocolate Truffle.  This is a wonderful combination of dark chocolate cream surrounded by fine dark chocolate encased in a delicate crisp wafer and topped with crunch dark chocolate morsels.
